This week has been a busy one here at Croyde Aerials, we have been out doing aerial installations across North Devon all week, and Friday was no exception.
This morning we installed a TV aerial at a house on the west side of Croyde where they had a very poor Freeview signal from the Croyde relay and only the limited amount of Public Service channels (BBC, ITV, C4, C5).
We used our extensive test equipment to test their most suitable transmitter from their property. This was the Croyde relay for the local news, and they could also get a very good signal from Preseli TV transmitter, which is in Wales, so gives BBC Wales and ITV Wales news.
We therefore installed two aerials for the customer, one on their roof for the full freeview service from the Preseli transmitter, and one pointing at the Croyde relay in their attic. Where the two cables join, we set up a combiner to combine the reception from the two aerials, and put it into one cable going down to their television.
The end result was an excellent signal from the full package of Freeview channels, plus the local versions of BBC One and ITV, from the Croyde relay giving BBC Spotlight and ITV West Country news.
