Communal TV systems provide a TV signal to every room, property within a building or holiday park without the need for multiple satellite dishes or digital TV aerials. If you or your tenants require a Sky Q installation or reception, the existing satellite dish system/IRS/multiswitch system will need alterations to be compatible with the new Sky Q box which will not be compatible with existing communal satellite installations. The Sky Q boxes still receive a satellite signal from the existing BSkyB signals and transponders on the Astra 2 satellite at 28 degrees east. The only difference is that the Sky Q receiver box has different components inside to allow extra functionality – which requires a slightly different configuration of the signals which are passed down the cables into each flat/room/property.
